Annette, known as Miss Annette by pageant family, has been involved with pageantry for over 25 years. She is a former titleholder, model, emcee, judge, director, pageant coach for interview and also a “Pageant Mom.” Annette has also worked with various TV and media personalities throughout her career. Additionally, she has enjoyed working on shows like Matchmaker for Lifetime and Made for MTV.
Miss Annette and her husband recently retired from their own business of over 30 years in Austin, Texas. She enjoys working with the pageant ladies to help them grow and become more self confident and to share the importance of volunteering. She encourages those who may have always thought of stepping outside their comfort zone – to just try it! One of her favorites quotes is “You’re never to old to set another goal or to follow your dream!”
Vanessa was first introduced to the Mrs. Texas United America Pageant in 2004 when she held the title of Mrs. Brazos Valley. This was her first pageant in nine years so it took a little coaxing from Miss Annette! If you ask her what one of her proudest moments was she would tell you placing 4th runner-up in the Mrs. Texas United America Pageant. The women that compete in this system are dynamic, smart, beautiful, diverse, and caring. Although they are competing against each other, the ladies come together and form lifelong friendships. From that point on Vanessa was in constant contact with Miss Annette asking how she could help. Not only has Miss Annette been a source of encouragement, she is also a wonderful role model and friend. Miss Annette finally assigned Vanessa the “job” of Director’s Assistant for the United America Pageant System.
In 2011 Vanessa was crowned the lifetime title of United America Ambassador in honor of her years of service to the pageant.
